Thinking about my previous entry, i thought i'd muse on who might be the fifth hidden cylon.
As far as arguments, since none of the other 4 hidden cylons have done anything anti-fleet we know of, lack of such evidence should not discount them as cylons, it has been indicated that these new cylons are very different and may hold differing viewpoints to the other cylon models.
Kara Thrace
Initially some cylon connection has been applied since the Leoben Conoy interrogation in the first season, she apparently has a destiny to play, which has been somewhat confirmed by her imagination inspired paintings matching the symbols in the Temple of Five. This suggests that she has some forsight which has yet to be proved as a human ability, however the sacred scrolls do seem to accurately predict at least parts of the future, written prior to the cylons so at least someone in the past had the ability to see the future.
The biggest chunk of evidence is that Kara managed to survive an apparent explosive destruction of her viper while already under pressure conditions that apparently destroyed the viper. The only known method of surviving such an incident would be to be downloaded into a new body, a technology only available to the cylons at this point.
However since she allegedly has been to Earth, and has returned in a non-colonial craft over interstellar distances, the earth based humans are technologically at least on a par with the fleet, possibly far ahead so there may be alternative solutions, although it has yet to be determined if she is flying an earth ship or a ship of another spacefaring power.
One note should be that Kara Thrace is deeply religious about certain things, but not others (Marriage unbreakable, but affairs morally allowed), the Final Five are hidden for a reason, whether its related to their beliefs or not would make this fact either a piece of evidence for or against Kara.
Laura Roslin
Given that Laura Roslin has managed to enter a dreamworld inhabited by 2 cylons (Six and Athena), and potentially a Cylon/Human hybrid (Hera), it implies she may be a cylon, however there are several explainations,
Firstly the Kamala extract has mind altering abilities which may allow connection to the dreamstate generated by the other three.
Secondly the presence of cylon hybrid blood may produce a mental link they can access
Thirdly there maybe some interaction between the previous two solutions that trigger the effect.
Fourthly it is entirely possible that as someone "fated" she has been sent these visions the same way Baltar is from whatever being Vision Six represents/is. It should be noted that since Baltar and Roslin have recieved similar visions, and its impled that there is only one remaining cylon to be found, that its possible for humans to recieve these visions and both could be human.
It should also be pointed out that President Roslin is suffering from a form of persistant breast cancer that has almost cost her life once, while cylons have been succeptible to disease on very rare occasions cancer would indicate a breakdown of the body she is in, which would seem rather unlikely given cylon control of their own physiology. However it has been suggested (by me me ) that its possible that the final five are not in humiform bodies, but actual human bodies as an explaination for them being able to be cylons with their backgrounds.
Laura is not the most likely candidate given that there are more likely candidates and there are other more plausible reasons for her visions.
Gaius Baltar
Its been implied that Baltar is a cylon since the miniseries when Six suggests "backing up his personality" however this could also imply that the cylons could in fact download a human personality into a cylon form.
This raises other questions about unseen cylon capabilities.
The fact that the enviroments he and the vision six seem to inhabit are akin or identical to the cylon projection abilities make a very strong argument for being a cylon.
Additionally D'anna Bier's revealation that "He Was Right" given his only obvious question was "Am I a Cylon" also suggests that he may indeed be one of the final five.
The projection ability of the cylons does not seem to include the vision six although it has not been discounted. It is entirely possible for a human's perceptions to be warped under certain influences and whatever Vision Six is it has the ability to manipulate Baltar on a level of controlling certain brain activity (movement and sense response so its possible the entire projection is created by Vision Six and just coincidentally is very similar to that of the Cylon projection, however this seems unlikely given such similarities).
As far as his past it does seem empty in the way of the previous cylon models (no one knowing he was from Aerelon, a convenient past for his moves towards popular support.
From the sense of the series, i do not believe Baltar is a cylon, however he might have been manipulated through experiences to function as a bridge between the two species since he has extensive albiet from a distance experience of co-existing with both.
Admiral William Adama
The only small titbit of information here is that Leoben Conoy whispered this divisive statement to President Roslin shortly before his death, however Leoben acts in a very disturbed manner that suggests pathological lying.
The presence of Lee and Zach Adama suggest that either they are unknowing hybrids or the cylon presence could be inhabiting the Admiral's body.
However it should be noted that my point about Saul being a suspicious choice of cylon given time of service, is based soley on the fact that Admiral Adama has known him for 50 years...
Lee Adama
This is a very unlikely possibility, only suggested since Lee has had projection style thoughts in the past. However there is no other evidence of him being cylon, particually given the fact that he is the son of Admiral Adama who I believe was at the birth.
Romo Lampkin
I'm tempted not to put this in, I had a feeling about Romo when he first appeared, but that was good writing to manipulate the belief of suspicion onto him.
Projection Reflections
If the undiscovered cylons are dramatically different from the current known cylons, its possible that they either possess increadible telepathic ability to reach into the minds of Six and Baltar, or even that they have progressed beyond the corporial plane to become something very different.
This is a stab in the dark, but i still feel they should be a candidate
Missing something obvious
If the cylons do possess mimicry, its entirely possible that the four current candidates are not in fact 4 different models, but four instances of the same model, given that no others heard the music it could be postulated that they are the only four copies on the ship (or even in existance), but it could be rather than there being four models shown, there are still four models to be found...
